| Thyaagaraaja Araadhana,
an annual music festival, a homage/tribute to one of the greatest saint-composers
was held this year from Jan 8 to 13, 2004 in Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur, Tamil
Nadu.
This festival, the 157th aradhana
was hosted by Sri Thyagabrahma Mahotsava Sabha. B. Krishnaraja Vanavarayar,
president, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Coimbatore Kendra, lighted a kuthuvilakku
to mark the inauguration.
Musicians & music lovers of all
age gather near the saint's samaadhi to sing his compositions. Special
prayers are offered to the saint-composer.
The Araadhana festival is celebrated
by musicians all over the world.
