Online course "The Music of South India"
- Ludwig Pesch

The new online course "The Music of South India" will resume in October. Register now.

Young and senior participants from all over the world, both non-Indians and persons of Indian origin - musicians, teachers, students, music loving professionals and scholars in various fields - have so far participated. Their enthusiastic participation, encouraging responses, recommendations and frequent inquiries are among the reasons for resuming this course.

The following features should go a long way to make it easier and more affordable for students around the world to benefit from participation:
- Much lower individual participation fees

- Special student rates (individual or group participation); this is also the rate offered to other participants from earlier courses
(i.e. a voluntary contribution towards the costs of running the new course)

- Group rate (min. 12 persons per group); this is meant for students and others registered with a recognized cultural or educational institution anywhere in the world (e.g. adult education programs)

- Charitable donation in the form of an educational fund payable in Rupees for a good cause (see course website for more information); this option is reserved for Indian participants residing in India;  Indian children are the beneficiaries of this category
(Participants are welcome to add money to their applicable amount for the purpose of donating to the charity mentioned above; the difference will be forwarded and acknowledged on receiving this payment.)

Other new features:
- Payments (credit cards/bank account) can now also be made through PayPal; this is secure and cost free (without need for a PayPal account)

- Registration is done by e-mail

- Teachers/tutors of a special seminar group are welcome to join and monitor the course forum (free of charge); this option is useful in those cases where students need credits for their academic courses

- The course forum now has familiar, more intuitive features helping even inexperienced computer/internet users to use their time productively

- All course related discussions give a choice of either communicating person-to-person or being accessible to all the other (registered) participants

- Seminar groups may opt for separate forum discussion groups (on request)

- The forum's system protects participants from from unsolicited mail; their e-mail addresses need not be revealed anywhere
