Online course "The Music of South India"
- Ludwig Pesch

The Music of South India is taught in English. This e-learning course is constantly being updated and covers the salient features of the classical music of southern India - known as 'Karnataka Sangitam' in India, and Carnatic (Karnatic) music in the English speaking world. It serves the needs of musicians, teachers and students. It is designed to facilitate interaction among participants, course tutor and experts.

In order to keep it accessible to music lovers and students all over the world, participation fees remain affordable. (The rates are even differentiated depending on participants' personal situation.) At the same time, no compromises are made as regards the first class server hosting services without advertisement and the protection of privacy for all participants and Co-Tutors interested in joining the course team.

Young and senior participants from all over the world, both non-Indians and persons of Indian origin-musicians, teachers, students, music loving professionals and scholars in various fields-have already participated in earlier versions of this course.

Date of registration: Registrations for the online course starting from September 2009 can be made from now onwards.

Seminar groups: The course welcomes students affiliated with different institutions and cultural organisations. Even students with little money to spare will find the course fees affordable.

Quality and privacy, no compromises: The course features include a state-of-the-art server, a "no advertisement" policy, and privacy assured. All this in spite of the modest fees charged to participants.

Book offer for course participants: As text book, each participant receives one copy of "The Oxford Illustrated Companion to South Indian Classical Music" (2nd revised edition, 2009) by registered airmail. The book has been warmly welcomed by reviewers in India.

Special "early bird" offer: For the combined arrangement - e-learning course and textbook - the special "early bird" offer is valid until 31 July.
