Description

The best-known of the three types of Belgian shepherds' dogs, taking its name from a town near Brussels; this is the long-haired black dog, the others being the fawn and charcoal short-haired and the ash-grey shaggy-haired.
The head should be finely chiselled, and the skull and muzzle should be about equal in length. The body should be powerful without being bulky, and the movement brisk and free. The outer coat should be long, straight and abundant. Colour should be black or black with limited white.
