Khushi Pathan, a 21-year-old girl from Vadodara, has designed a
one-of-a-kind uniform for the army personnel that gives them access to
electricity even on the move.
One of the major challenges of army
officers is to stay in contact while on the move. Their mobile phones
or communication equipment are hardly helpful while working in remote
places and for longer hours.
All the army personnel need to do is spend at least half an hour in the
sun while wearing the uniform suit. This will solar charge and give them
enough power to fully charge their mobile phones. It can also charge
their walkie-talkies and radios.
The dress has 20 small solar panels on it. Khushi has specially taken
care that apart from being able to solar charge, the uniform is flexible
enough and is lightweight.
