The remnants of 10th-12th century have been unearthed at Harlongkuruati
village of Borgaon near Kampur of Nagaon district in a paddy field where
work was on in digging works for a mud dam construction along the
Kopili River. A stone temple plinth was discovered. The exposed
temple relics are part of an adhisthana and jangha portion of a stone
temple. Broken images of deities were also exposed, and a linear
arrangement of stone slabs was also observed.
The protected monument of the Bundura archaeological site lies approximately 1 km east of this newly reported site

Assam is known as the Tea Garden of India. Assam’s association
with tea dates back to the early 19th century when indigenous tea plants
were discovered growing wild in the region. This find transformed Assam
into one of the world’s most important tea-producing belts. Today, the
state is home to over 800 tea estates, sprawling across the fertile
valleys of the Brahmaputra and Barak rivers.
Upper Assam: Known for premium orthodox and CTC teas, with estates
around Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, and Sivasagar. Lower Assam: Produces robust
teas with strong liquor, supporting large-scale production. Barak
Valley: Located in southern Assam, this region contributes a smaller but
significant share of high-quality tea.
